Swanbourne HomeWares for colourful & useful homeware gifts.
What better gift for your friends and family than happiness and good luck ?
Le Coq du Bonheur (The Rooster of Happiness) is ready to take his place on the kitchen shelf and bring happiness and luck to the house.
You don’t need to go far to find him and his friends- they are waiting for you at SWANBOURNE HOMEWARES. Why trek into the city when you can shop locally with a fabulous range that is constantly updated? We have already stocked the kitchen in our serviced offices with their practical and colourful crockery.
The story of ‘ le coq du bonheur ‘ refers back to a time when a Spaniard was wrongly accused of a crime when traveling through Portugal. The coq crowed in time to save him from the gallows and the coq became a symbol of good luck and happiness in Portugal. He is gaily painted and if you look at the photo closely you can see two different types of coq – look at the eyes.
There is a whole row for you to choose your favourite one or two.
If you have enough good luck and happiness, you might need kitchen brightener-uppers and housewares or gifts for visiting friends’ homes (it’s far too early to mention the “C” word even though the decorations are finding their way into shops!)
Swanbourne Homewares is a treasure trove of bright, useful, decorative and feel-good home and cookware items. If your peeler is blunt, if the cups have cracks, if your tea needs a zingy little pot to make it taste better….you’ll find so many things to tempt and please you.
Climb upstairs and you’ll find Jenny or Marilyn ready to help you solve your gift giving problems. Trouble is, if you’re like me and buy things you love, you may end up keeping everything for yourself.
Even the stairs are filled with delightful things, useful and decorative. They remind you that utility does not have to mean ‘dull’ and colour is not confined to childhood.
Tangines, Le Creuset and Calphalon cookware is 20-30% RRP.
The shelves are full of pots, pans, cooking trays, aprons, place mats, dish towels, kitchen gadgets, water jugs, serving plates, cups & saucers, teapots, teapot covers, outdoor tableware – plan to stay awhile because the choice is wide and the colours wild.
And then there’s the little matter of the coq du bonheur !
